ABOUT KRIS...
Originally a San Diego native, Kris Cristiano moved to Denver in 2020. Kris is passionate about helping people by empowering them with the tools needed to heal. Kris is straightforward and compassionate. As an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), she aims to guide her clients toward healing.
Kris graduated from Cal State State San Marcos with both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She received a bachelor's in political science and a master's in social work.
Kris specializes in working with those impacted by sexual betrayal, sexual addiction, and infidelity. There are three separate "clients" when working to guide the healing process:
1) The betrayed partner (the one who's been lied to)
2) The betraying partner (the one that did the lying)
3) And the couple (the relationship)
Kris works with all three clients.
BETRAYED PARTNER
Kris works with the partner who was betrayed to learn how to heal through learning boundaries, understanding betrayal trauma, processing trauma, and gaining thier voice back.
BETRAYING PARTNER
The betraying partner learns how and why the behaviors started, how to have boundaries with themselves, processes trauma, and learns emotional regulation.
COUPLE
The couple is the last part to learn the skills of healing. Remember that after betrayal, marriage 1.0 is dead and marriage 2.0 is getting built. Marriage 2.0 is all about learning to connect, manage conflict, learning empathy, understanding, getting curious, emotional regulation, understanding how childhood trauma is playing out in the marriage, learning what poor communication patterns have been done in the past, building trust, and learning how to have sexual intimacy in a meaningful and connecting way.
